March 2009
2009 Design Show Reception
This year's theme is Print+Interactive. For the first time in years, print and interactive entries are together in a single show. Why? Because good design translates. Interpreting a client’s vision. Decoding audience needs. Adapting between interactive and print—and back again. Good design solves problems. Breaking down communication barriers. Speaking in a language the world understands. Creating a voice that connects. An invitation to converse. On paper. On screen. No matter the palette—good design is the medium that compels people to act. So come on down to the Weisman for a night of total design-geekitude!
If you aren't already booked up for the evening—and if you're in the Twin Cities—you should definitely stop by the Weisman Art Museum on the U campus to check out the 2009 Design Show award winners. The best of the best of Midwest design will be there on display for you to drool at. And while I can't make it, there will be a whole slew of even cooler people to talk with about all the latest in design gossip.Update: Online registration is now closed. Feel free to attend the Design Show by simply walking into the event. The prices remain the same for walk-ins.
Shepard Fairey and the Obama poster dustup
Rarely do my interests in design and politics get to meet up. Here however is one of those lucky instances.
